Windows Crashes when I dock iPod

E

Ewan McTaggart

Hello

This problem has only just started. When I dock my ipod (had it for 2
years, no problems) my computer crashes. Never had anything like this
before.

I get a blue screen with no indication of what's happened. The computer
closes down after a "physical dump" and tries to restart but just hangs.
If I remove the iPod, and restart the machine, I can start it from "last
known good configuration", it then starts ok.

Have tried to restore system from point way before I had this problem, same
thing happened. I've tried restoring iPod updater, ITunes..same problem.

I've recently got a new Broadband router, could that be the problem?
Though disconnecting this and docking iPod causes the same problem.

The iPod is connected through the Firewire rather than USB.

Any help would be grateful, if if someone can suggest how I can find out
what is going wrong, let alone fix the problem!

TIA

Ewan

I used to have problems like this with a bad wireless netowrk card.
When ever I plugged it in, the compuer would reboot. Sounds to me like
a hardware error. Have you tried booting from cold with the iPOD docked
already?
