But.

In my experience - which I admit is somewhat limited - there are very few decent games available for Linux.

Seems the only games of any calibre available are Windows games where the publishers have been decent enough to compile some Linux code.

AFAIK you're right. But. - again, AFAIK - you've got to start somewhere.
