Windows 7 modem issues

The problem is that I was trying to get this modem working from my desktop, which is not close to the main socket. The adsl line was running off an extension, but my mate, who works for BT(incase I hadn't mentioned that!), had said that the adsl line was fine as nothing had changed from when I was using my spedtouch modem....I guess he was wrong.

My mate ,who works for BT,is poping round on Thursday to move my master socket and fit a proper broadband socket behind my desktop, so fingers crossed I can get the modem working off my desktop.:thumb:
