I just bought a server and install windows 2000 server. I am stuck in one question. Windows 2000 comes with 5 CAL (client access license ).

Does this means that i can have five computer at my home that can be used to access this server?

what if i run web server and let other people use my web space, are they consider a client?

hope i can get some info on this matter.
thanks

that means you can have 5 clients accessing your server legally but there is nothing to stop more clients from accessing (illegal without more licenses).

In regards to web clients these are not counted as seats. so you can have as many as you like without licensing implications. So no, people using your "web space" would not be counted as clients.
