I bought an Open License Program for Windows Server 2000 and I received
numbers for Windows Server 2003, so I cannot install the new CAL.
Can I have help to install this CAL on the Windows Server 2000 ??

Thanks,

Best regards

This is completely normal, since you cannot buy Windows 2000 TS CALs
anymore.

You can use your downgrade rights and install the licenses on a W2K
TS Licensing Server.

We *are* talking about Terminal Services Client Access Licenses
here, correct?

As far as I know, this option becomes available when you install
the licenses on the activated TS Licensing Server, but I might be
wrong.

Have you actually tried to install the licenses? What went wrong?
Did you get to the point where you must enter the Open License
Agreement / enrollment number? What error message did you get?

I can concur that it is possible to use Windows 2003 TS device CAL's in
the Windows 2000 TS licensing server, i've done it a few times. Maybe
your licensing mode is on the wrong program (Volume licensing instead
of Open License?) Or maybe you bought Per User TS CAL's instead of Per
Device (W2k doesnt support Per User TS CAL's). I would recommend
calling the Microsoft License desk to activate your licenses.

I already tried to install the licence.
But when I must choose the licence bought, I only can choose license for
windows 2000 (CAL or Internet connector) and after I have the page where I
enter the two numbers (licence and authorization).
Then, a message appear to tell me that he communicate with the windows
server to activate the licence, and the next page tell me that windows cannot
activate this licence.

If I try with internet page, I have the same thing...

Thanks.

Choose the telephone method and call the Clearinghouse.
They will guide you through the process.
