Win2K SP4 upgrade error

When I try to upgrade to SP4 from a Win2K SP3 system, I get the following
error
when it's running the processes after install

"sp4iis -- Unable to connect to metabase"
"Setup failed to remove ism.dll mappings -- setup will abort"

and then it rolls back to Sp3. I've locked down the IIS server on this guy
(running Win2K AS).. any ideas?

Well
many ppl has problems installing SP4 over a running IIS

it seems that the installation brokes something in the IIS mmc so

before you install SP4, make an ERD, stop the IIS service and put the service in manual, apply the SP4
reboot the server, restart the IIS service

if everything runs ok, change the IIS to automatic again
