SP4 Setup error "Unable to connect to metabase"

Win2000-Sp3 to Sp4 Upgrade stops with Error "Unable to
connect to metabase" then "Setup failed to remove ism.dll
script mappings", then aborts. Sp4 uninstall works OK and
puts me back at square 1.

Any ideas anybody? Thanks in advance!

Please post some error msg's to go on.
Windows 2000/ XP will print error msg's
in the event logs as to why the upgrade did not work

Who do we contact to cure the problem. The problem is
that it did work on my other computer. so I don't know
where the problem is?

I also get a error close to the same.

The error:

Required dll not found - sp4iis.
Setup failed to remove ism.dll script mappings.
Service Pack setup will abort.

Nothing in the event viewer.

I think this is a IIS issue. IIS services need to be
stopped, then upgrade to SP4, then restart IIS.

I think I just fixed mine - I had the exact same thing everyone else
is seeing.
I had Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition 7.6 w/Real-time file system
monitoring installed. I went in and disabled file system monitoring,
then stopped the service (did not need to un-install) and then re-ran
the SP4 installer - and it went through fine... so far everything
seems to be running great.

I'll repost if its screwed up.
