where are the drivers

i am trying to setup a modem to a new computer with xp but it doesn't work.
i can not add a client to the microsoft network which must be done in order
for me to connect to my server. where can i get the drivers needed for this
or is there a way around it. i've tried everything but my server doesn't
recognize me because i'm not a client of the network. please help
