What resized photos for 5MB Limit?

M

MapleE.

Hi:
I want to upload three or five photos on my Hobby-site.

There is a limit on this site, ... it says, ...
"Total upload cannot exceed 5MB for accounts, ..."

What resized photos would be acceptable?

I plan to upload from My Picture < My Document.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Have you checked the FAQ on the website?
I suspect the accepted file sizes are noted.

Also...the following free PowerToy can be
quite useful for resizing batches of images.

Go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

To insure that images in both portrait and
landscape orientation are resized to the
same dimensions...go to...Advanced...
and enter the largest number in both fields.
IOW...for 600x800...enter 800 in both fields.

Hi John Inzer:
Thanks for the quick response yesterday.

After having read the instruction, I downloaded and
successfully uploaded the photos, 10(ten) altogether
on my Hobby site.

One thing I can not understand is that you mentioned
instead, 600 x 800, ... 800 x 800. However, there is
no 800 x 800. Only I can see is, small, medium, large
and advanced.

How to resize, 800 x 800.
note:) I uploaded all of photos, medium which is
600 x 800 resized and turned out fantastic results.

Thanks again,

You're welcome. I'm happy you hear that
you are having better results now.

If you click the Advanced button and then
tick "Custom" you can enter the size you
require. Entering the same number in each
field insures that portrait and landscape
images are the correct size. This will not
result in a square image because the
aspect ratio of the original is still recognized.

Hi John Inzer, Photo MVP:
Thanks again for the instruction.

Is there any difference in between,
600 x 800 and 800 x 800?
What's difference in between, ...
I mean?

I love all photos in sharp image for
others to see. So far, it's OK to me
in terms to 'sharpness,' but again some
of those experts could recognize this,
tid'bits' shaprness, as seeing that experienced
photo-takers know well about 'how to take
objects correctly, ... like sun or clouds behind,
and the like.

In my novice and limited knowledge as a first-timer
uploading photos on the Hobby site, I am almost
happy about its results.

Thanks again,

If you have a folder that contains images
in both portrait and landscape orientation...
and you wish (for example) to reduce the
size of the files to 640x480....the image
resizer will make the portrait file: 360x480
and the landscape file: 640x480.

Choosing the advanced option and entering
640 in each field will result in both images
(regardless of orientation) being 640x480.
