Resizing photo for forum avatar

Does anybody know how could I resize a photo so I can upload it to use as an
icon in a Discussion Board?

I want to put a photo as an icon in one of my boards. Problem is that they
only allow uploads up to 25 KB and my photos are 200 and up to300 KB. I Have
the photo in My Pictures in My documents Folder. I right clicked the photo,
but there is no resizing option. The only way I can resize is if I were going
to e-mail the file.

I use Windows XP/SP3

I appreciate any suggestions

Thanks,
Edith

Right click / resize...will be an option if you
download and install the following free powertoy.

OK, go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe
http://tinyurl.com/2meyw
or...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

It's wonderful John Inzer. I donwloaded the Image Resizer. exe an I have the
resize option now.

Now, I have one more question. I need to reduce the photo to 25 kb, but the
optinons I get in the resizer start with 640 X 480 screen and up. I don't
know how to compare this units to kb. How can I figure which of those sizes
is the one closer to the size I need?

Thank you

Just try a couple of the choices and
see which one serves your needs.

I suspect the 640x480 will do it but if
not...try 240x320.

Click on advanced and you can customize the size.

A 2mb jpg at custom of 420 x 240 reduces to 28kb

Looks a little fuzzy.
