resizing photos for I can send them in an e-mail

Hello,

I have Windows XP, Home Ed. I recently uploaded (or downloaded?) photos
from My Fuji FinePix camera to my computer. I didn't download the software.
I have them saved on my desktop. If I click on the photo, it shows up in
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. They are approximately 3 MB in size. I went
to e-mail them & I can only send 1 photo at a time because they are so large.
(in my e-mail, when I click on attachments & go to my desktop they are
labeled jpeg 1, jpeg 2, etc.)

I am new to this. I know Windows XP has a WinZip file (which I've never
used before).

1. How do I resize the photos so I can send the entire gallery in my e-mail?

2. Do I need to resize each one individually?

3. The photos also show up in Adobe Photoshop Album. Should I resize them
from there and, if so, how do I do this?

Sorry for the detail, but I'm new to digital photography & need these basic
questions answered.

Best regards,

John B

Scroll down for lots of info:

If you right click a photo and select...
Send To / Mail Recipient...you should
get a dialog box that offers to resize the
pictures. If you do not...see the dialog...
have a look at the followign article:

Why don't the Resize Pictures dialog
appear while sending picture to e-mail?
http://www.winxptutor.com/resizeimage.htm

Zipping is not going to help because
..jpgs are already highly compressed.

The following free Windows XP Power
Toy may be just what you are looking for:

OK, go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe
http://tinyurl.com/2meyw
or...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

To insure that images in both portrait and
landscape orientation are resized to the
same dimensions...go to...Advanced...
and enter the largest number in both fields.
IOW...for 600x800...enter 800 in both fields.
