I sit in front of the pc, not that far away and the cable is about 5m long, wireless 360 pads on the pc are apparently a bit 'iffy'. Costs lot more.

yes.

A word of warning about the cordless XBox 360 controller for PC: I ordered one from Overclockers, it didn't work.

I got a replacement - it didn't work either.

OCUK gave me a refund.

I was so cheesed off by this I passed on the corded version.

But if V_R says it's the bee's knees then it very likely is :)

Good price too :thumb:

I use the Logitech Wingman cordless gamepad with rumble and I'm very very pleased with it.

cool thanks guys I wont get the wireless one I am fairly close to the screen!

It is going to be a bit strange for me using a controller on my pc! Not much of a gamer guys, but you lot talking all about these games makes me want to play them especially some shoot em ups!
You are getting me hooked.

The only games I play is football games but I get the feeling that is soon to change.

There is this company called e-play who are about to close down. They have shops all over the country and I got one near me. In there is lots of buy one get on frees on games and acessories. I will a good butchers hook in there for a xbox 360 controller.

Shame about the controller Flopps, that is very bad luck.

This is the one you want.

And here's an alternative.

Joypads are good for all driving games and most sports games. They are a bit rubbish for first person shooters.

For fps's, you can't beat a mouse and keyboard.

Quoted for truth. :thumb:

The first link of flop's is the one in my second post and the one i have, believe me it cant be beaten for any game that IS NOT a first person shooter. The analog triggers for racing games are very handy, (accelerator and brake) none or this 'on, off' rubbish, and the sticks are great for most other games. :)

PSD i used to play Pro Evo on the Xbox loads and i can tell ya your game will improve x10 with a pad over the kb and mouse.

Call Of Duty 2
Quake 4
Doom 3
FEAR
Prey
Painkiller
Half Life 2
Half Life 2 Episode One
Far Cry

And a little newer:

Bioshock
Stalker: Chernobyl (Haven't played it myself yet)

And even older:

Soldier Of Fortune Two
Max Payne 2
007: Nightfighter
Devastation
Any of the three Serious Sam games

Most of those listed above are on budget, in a GAME shop, for instance, you can get Doom 3; Doom 3 Expansion pack; Quake 4 and Far Cry for £7.50 each (Two for £15.00).

If you look on Play Com you may find them even cheaper.
