Windows XP Watch dvd no sound

I have a HP Pavilion a6098 home pc, it came with windows vista. I have downgrade the os to windows xp prof. I have some problem with the hardware I can watch dvd movie on the screen but there is no sound, and my wireless keyboard is not working with the function keys.

Hi Rosalind - does sound work in other applications? Also, which wireless keyboard do you have?

With this extra information we may be able to help :) Windows Vista is worth sticking with in most cases.

Yes the sound does work in other applications, except watching dvd movies no sound at all. I am using the HP wireless Model: KG-0630 keyboard.
I would be most appreciate if you could help me to solve this problem.
