W2003 Fax Service Manager - mail system DLL is invalid

We are using W2003 installed with Exchange and are trying to get the Fax Service Manager to send us faxes via email. Printing works great, but we are getting a "mail system DLL is invalid" error when trying to send emails. We have tried changing the SMTP settings in every imaginable combination, but no luck.

If it helps the DLL version is
mapi32.dll version is 6.5.7226.0

Any ideas?

As a little update - I copied the MAPI32.dll from the pre-SP1 back into the system32 directory and I can now get the "mail to" button to work if Outlook Express is open.

The MAPI32.dll that is now installed is version 1.0.2536.0 (Is this version secure???)

What still does not work is the automatic routing from the Fax Service Manager. Regardless of what I put in under Fax/Properties/Receipts SMTP Email the status of incoming faxes remains "retrying routing" until it reaches "routing failed"
