Mail DLL is invalid.

I seem to be getting this error if I try to send a fax via email using the
fax console. In addition, routing by email seems to be broken. I know that
this used to work at some point, because when I first installed all of the
software (Windows 2003 SBS) I verified that email was delivered. Did I mess
something up by installing Outlook 2003 on the server? Can anyone tell me
which file is the culprit? MAPI32.DLL? I have two versions of this file,
one dated 12/10/2002 in the \Program files\common files\system\msmapi\1033
and the other dated 6/2/2003 in the \winnt\system32 directory.

Yes. I think this has got to do something with installing Outlook 2003. You
can try copying an old MAPI32.dll (from some other bare machine without any
Outlook 2003 etc) onto system32 directory (after backing up the existing one
of course) and see.

This may be due to the fact that new MAPI32.dll doesn't have some of the
exports fax service expects.

Let us know what you observe.

I think the problem is with MAPI32.dll. You should try to get your old
MAPI32.dll and copy it onto your \winnt\system32 directory. Make sure you
backup the existing one just so it may be of help if the copied one seems to
make things worse. Let us know if this solves your problem
