validation tool

Why have I had several reminders to install the microsoft validaton tool
when I installed the bloody thng weeks ago.

Oh...and for whose benefit is it cluttering up my disk, certainly not mine.
 
A new validation tool comes out every few weeks as far as I can tell. I have
just installed one this morning, it's certainly not a one off.
