Utility to change resolution in Win XP

I have poor eyesite and have my resolution set at 640 x 480 most of the
time, however when I run Photoshop Elements 7, I need to have it set at 1024
x 768 in order to see all of the program on the screen. I know that there
are utilities that set in your tray that you can change the resolution
manually. Is there any way to have the resolution change automatically when
ever I would open PSE and then change back to 640 x 480 when I leave PSE?

Though I've never tried it, I wonder if you can right-click the
executable, or a shortcut, click Properties, Compatibility tab, "Run in
640 by 480 screen resolution". It might not change back automatically
afterwards; I don't know.

Whoops! I got that backwards.. you better go with the software suggested.

Hi John,

I downloaded the display changer that you suggested but for the life of me I
cannot figure out how to run this. Have you ever used this software? I know
that it mentions on their web page how to change the screen setting when you
go into a program, but I am not a programmer and cannot figure out how to do
this.

Yes, I ran it some time ago and I downloaded the program and tested it
again before I suggested it.

Right click on the Photoshop Elements 7 shortcut and click on Properties
and then edit the "Target" line.

For example, let's assume that the Target now reads:

"C:\Program Files\Photoshop Elements 7\Element7.exe"

You have to proceed the Target with the following:

dc.exe -width=1024 -height=768

So the Target line will now look like this:

dc.exe -width=1024 -height=768 "C:\Program Files\Photoshop Elements
7\Element7.exe"

After you change the target click on "Apply" and then click on "OK".
When you use the shortcut to start your program it should start at a
1024x768 resolution. When you exit the program the resolution will
return to what it was before you started the program

John,
This is what my target line is now: dc.exe -width=1024 -height=768
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
When I click on Apply this is the message that I get. Problem with Shortcut-
The name 'dc.exe' specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the
path and file name are correct.

Any Ideas what could be wrong?
