640 x 480 resolution

I work in a school, some of the programs used by the Pre-K
teacher require a 640 x 480 resolution. I've already set
the compatability modes on the programs. Unfortunately
Windows XP won't reduce the resolution to 640 x 480. Is
there any way to make this work??

You might try this:

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Settings > Advanced > Adapter > List All Modes

Probably just some hardware/driver combinations that simply won't go that
low. If you right click on the desktop and try to reduce the resolution and
that combination isn't offered then you may simply be out of luck. Best way
to find out would be to contact the manufacturer of the hardware and ask
them about it.

Despite what the KB article says, you can uncheck this box for all eternity
and you'll never be able to set the resolution to 640x480. Give it a try.

Check at Display - Settings, click Advanced, and
In Monitor uncheck 'Hide Modes the monitor does not support'
In Adapter, check 'List All Modes'
Then in the drop down there look and see if there are 640x480 ones up
top.

If not then the video card and/or its drivers do not provide support.
