user name logon problem

when I turn the computer on I get the message "click on user name..." on the
blue screen but there is no icon to click on. I cannot get past this to get
to the desktop. I have tried starting in safe mode with the same result.
All I can do is turn it on and off. Help!

I haven't tried it, but i read that if you you press ctrl+alt+del twice, a
windows 9x style
logon prompt will appear.
If it does, then logon and get and install Tweak UI from microsoft.

Run Tweak UI and in the left pane select "Logon".
In the right pane make sure that the account you want to access has a
checkmark next to it's entry.
