I received the blue screen after an improper shut-down. I have windows XP home.

Blue screen stop code 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x87139B08, 0x00000000)

I did some research and have tried the following with no luck. I am unable to get a command prompt to type chkdsk /r

1)F8 on start-up click on last known good configuration
2)F8 on start-up click on safe mode with command prompt
3) " " click on safe mode
4) " " click on directory services restore mode

After all these choices it goes back to same blue screen

5) I do not have a windows xp install disk. I made a bootable recovery console CD from file xp_rec_con.iso I tested and it worked on a different computer. I put into bad computer selected boot first CD. I then booted from recovery console CD. I get the hit any key prompt. Then windows setup and all the files start loading. But instead of getting the prompt to select R, it goes into a different blue screen stop code:

0x0000007b (0xf7cb663c, 0xc34, 0x00, 0x00)

6) F10 System recovery - select hardware diagnostics - select basic test - no failed devices. Also separately ran hard drive test and CPU & memory test - no failed devices. It appears I can run a system recovery but this would wipe out all my "stuff" which I am trying to avoid.

7) I finally tried, for kicks, swapping out the RAM and no change.

I would greatly appreciate advice. Thanks
