I want to give my child limited access to the computer. I decide to
add him as a User. I go into "Control Panel" but when I click "User
Accounts" nothing happens. Nothing opens up...nothing.

I am the only person who uses this computer. There are no other users
set up. The only account is "Owner" which I believe is the XP default.

What do I do now?

If you have XP Pro you can right click on my computer and go to Manage.
Click on Local Users and Groups - Then Users. You can manage admin
and users from here. If you do not have Home Ed. I don't know, maybe
someone else does...

To add a new user (With XP Pro) just right click in a blank area where
the users are listed (should have administrator, guest, aspnet, etc...)
and click new user.

Thankss, but I have the Home Ed. I tried your path just for kicks, but
I don't have anything that says anything close to "Local Users and
Groups" anywhere in there.

Thanks anyway though.

Hey Angela:

Try this:
-- Start -- Run -- control userpasswords2
-- Select your child's username/account and hit Properties
-- Select the Group Membership tab and put him in the Users group
-- Hit OK to apply changes

Oh, I would bake you some cookies if you were my neighbor! That seems
to have done just the trick! Thank you very much!
