Unread messages do not appear in Inbox

New unread messages are appearing in the Unread Mail folder, but not in the
Inbox.
After selecting a message in the Unread Mail folder, it then vanishes, and I
am not able to find it in the Ibox or any other folder.
Any assistance with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is usually caused by an incorrect View> Arrange By setting. Make sure
you are seeing All Messages (not unread messages only) and not applying any
other filters. Also check Junk Mail and Rules for automatic deletions.
