Uni to Multiprocessor upgrade

I need to upgrade a workstation with Xeon processor to
dual. I have not found any info directly related to
doing this. I did find instructions for NT 3.51. A
little dated. Any clues?

If the board supports SMP, all you have to do is add the CPU and a heatsink
and fan. You will then require a ACPI multiprocessor HAL, which means a
reinstallation of Windows XP.

DeviceManager/Computer/Properties/Driver/UpdateDriver. Do not update from
Standard to ACPI HAL and vice versa.
If you've got at the initial setup time both Xeon CPU and Hyperthreading
enabled in the BIOS, most probably your system got Multiprocessor HAL
already.
