Change HAL from "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" to "ACPI Multiprocessor PC"

Hi,

I have an IBM M55 with windows XP installed. On this PC there is an
Intel Core 2 Duo installed.
After having XP installed, CPU-Z reports that 1 core is disabled. (See
below)
This is true, because checking task manager i can only see 1 cpu.
Device manager reports that my PC is an "Advanced Configuration and
Power Interface (ACPI) PC"

How can I change this from my current setting to "ACPI Multiprocessor
PC", without reinstalling XP?
I already tried to do "Update Driver", but the only 2 answers I get
are
"Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" and
"Standard PC"

Is there any other way? Sysprep or other?

Start device manager.
In device manager expand 'Computer'
Under Computer you should see the currently installed 'HAL' information
"Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" (as you indicated
below)
Right click the (ACPI)PC device and chose 'Update Driver'
Select the (Advance) radio button in the Hardware Update Wizard and click
next.
Select 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install' and click next.
Make sure the "Show compatible hardware" check box is checked on the next
screen
Select the correct HAL for your system type and follow the instruction from
the wizard to complete the install.
(Caution) Installing an incompatible HAL could severely reduce you systems
performance and indeed force you to rebuild it. If ‘ACPI Multiprocessor PC’
is not a part of the choices then there might be a configuration in your BIOS
which is disabling the second core or you might need a BIOS update.
