unable to connect to on line game due to connection

I have recently updated from ME to XP,i have been playing on-line game fighter ace for a few years using ME,now i cannot seem to connect to game while using XP,my firewall seems to be disabled but i cant seem to connect or it is timed out,i dont know if this is a network thing or is there a way to boost my connection,i dont understand how i can connect to same game using ME but not XP,could one of you please try to help me,im losing money not being able to play a game i paid for in advance..thank you ,john

Not a good idea to not have a firewall active. Better check your system
for adware/spyware and trojans.
