Time lag for pressing <Esc> to skip screensaver from starting

In WinXP, whenever the screensaver is starting or about to start, I
remembered there's a option for us to press the <Esc> button to stop the
screensaver from starting.

However, there's a "time lag" for the above action and I find this "time
lag" to be too short (just around one second) for my liking. I seemeed to
have forgotten where to set the time duration of this "time lag". Anyone has
any idea where the setting is?

Any advice is appreciated! Many thanks!

If you have Tweak UI installed look under Logon, Screen Saver. There
you can specify the grace period. If you don't have Tweak UI, you can
get it as part of the powertoys for Windows XP at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx.

Thanks but is there a way I could do so thru the regedit? Dun really like the
idea of installing TweakUI just because of this issue. Appreciated!

Thanks again. Went thru all of [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] but couldn't find the key
[ScreenSaverGracePeriod].

Do I have to create one? If so how do I do it and which sub-section should
it be located in? Appreciate your advise!

Create a new string value, or modify the existing value, called
"ScreenSaverGracePeriod" and set it according to the value data below. On
some versions of Windows this may be a DWORD value, if REG_SZ does not work
correctly retry with DWORD.

Value Data: 0 - 2,147,483 seconds (approximately 24 days)
