TCP/IP problem on XP Pro

Dennis

I can no longer get out to the internet. If I do a IPCONFIG I have a valid IP
address and I can ping an IP address but not a name like yahoo.com. My ISP says
my Winsock is corrupted. Can someone help me get my TCP/IP healthy again? I
did reinstall XP but that did not correct my problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dennis;
Try this:
===========================================================
If you have suddenly lost your Internet connection after removing spy-ware
(such as NewDotNet, and Commonname) the following steps will help restore your
connection. This works for Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP.

1.) Download WinsockFix.zip. (by: Option^Explicit)
http://members.shaw.ca/installations/WinsockFix.zip
2.) UnZip WinsockFix.zip (Pay close attention to where the file is extracted
to.)
3.) Run WinsockFix.exe.
4.) Click the Fix button.

This program will clean up your TCP/IP connection and rebuild the database.
After the program is complete, reboot and your problems should be resolved.

Wes,

You are my hero, this worked like a charm. I can't tell you how many tech
support folks I have talked to the last two days. Thanks much.
