System won't let me log on

In trying to correct a problem on my computer, I think I
pressed the wrongs buttons. I have Windows2000
Professional. When I restarted my computer later, I
received the message "the local policy of this system
does not permit you to logon interactively." Now I can't
get into my computer at all, I'm left with a blue screen
and gray box. I tried starting in safe mode but the same
problem occured. PLEASE HELP ME, I can't even access any
of my files so that I can back them up, as of right now I
have a useless computer. Any help or suggestion you make
have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Jamie

If you have access to another W2K computer networked to yours you might try the
method in the link below. Otherwise you will need to reinstall by booting up from the
install cdrom and have the product key. You can reinstall into the existing \winnt
folder that the installation will detect being sure NOT to format your
drive/partition. Your data [unless EFS encrypted] should be safe, but you will have
to reinstall all applications on top of themselves, reapply service pack, install
critical updates at Windows Update, reconfigure and mail/newsgroup settings, and find
your original profile where you probably have data files under the documents and
settings folder in a folder with the same name as the name you logon with. -- Steve
