logon interactively

Jamie

In trying to correct a problem on my computer, I think I
pressed the wrongs buttons. I have Windows2000
Professional. When I restarted my computer later, I
received the message "the local policy of this system
does not permit you to logon interactively." Now I can't
get into my computer at all, I'm left with a blue screen
and gray box. I tried starting in safe mode but the same
problem occured. PLEASE HELP ME, I can't even access any
of my files so that I can back them up, as of right now I
have a useless computer. Any help or suggestion you make
have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Jamie

Jamie,

Is this computer a member of a domain? If so, have an administrator log in
and change the local security policy (or Domain Policy) to allow you to
logon locally.

If it is not a member of the domain, you will need to have a local
administrator log on and make the same change.

You can make this change locally following these steps:

run gpedit.msc
Browse to: computer configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local
Policies\User Rights Assignment\Log On Locally

Hope that helps
