synchronizing web pages

I am working on a website with a partner, is there a way to synchronise web
pages that each other has edited so that we don't over-write each others'
work?
 
By the way, an alternative would be for you to work "live" on the server
rather than from your respective hard drives.
 
Piece of cake with FP2003 but not with prior versions. If you haven't
upgraded, it's an excellent time.
 
One way is to work on separate sections.
Or, "always" open the live site, publish back to your hard drive, edit and then publish back to the
server.
This would have to be done by both of you every time you work on the web.
