sticking mouse

This rodent is driving me crazy. It sticks here and there
with no particular preference. I cleaned it and windows
xp pro reports no problems. I have changed the mouse
config settings to see if a cure is available through
that process -- zilch. By the way, it was doing this
before the xp pro upgrade of 98se.

Windows will never report on how clean a mouse is.. .. best to use an
optical mouse..

Exactly, many mice that rely on the old balls get worn out as the moving
peices deteriorate and get gunked up. I would buy a new mouse as long
as nothing in Mouse Properties in the Control Panel fixes the problem.
