Startup uninstall problem for ATI TV Wonder

L

I had an ATI TV Wonder installed a while back and decided to eventually
uninstall it. Well, now, whenever I startup my PC, an uninstall program pops
up and asks for a file that no longer exists. If I click on cancel, it will
start undoing whatever it did and close the popup only to popup again. This
will happen about 4 times in a row before it finally goes away. The program
isn't even listed in the Add/Remove Programs list anymore, too. I've scanned
my computer using Trend Micro and I am clean, so I am stumped about how to
prevent it from wanting to uninstall it. Please help.

You might want to try these steps:

1- try running a free program called "windows installer cleanup" which you
can find here :
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml

2- You could try to reinstall drivers from ati.com and uninstall it back .

3- use "drivercleaner" which is a program used to clear every traces left
from audio/video drivers including CAB files. This one ain't free though....

Try these steps in normal mode and then in safe mode if it didn't work the
first time (F8 at boot). Be sure to create a restore point before doing
anything and I would even suggest to try that restore point first as XP's
system restore tends to stop working without notice and the only way to get
it back working is to flush away those precious restore points, disable it
and enable it back.

If nothing works, last thing to do would be start/run, type "msconfig"
without "" and press enter.
In the START tab, find something to do with ATI and uncheck it. Press apply
then OK then reboot. If nothing changes, redo these steps, check back what
you unchecked and go on finding another one that has to do with ATI. That
would be a last resort as it will not remove your problem but only prevent it
from loading during startup.
