Cannot uninstall software

Have ScanSoft PaperPort software from a Visioneer scanner that I would like
to uninstall before beginning setup of a new Canon all-in-one, because the
new setup also utilizes Scansoft PaperPort software.

Unfortunately, the PaperPort software that I'm trying to uninstall did not
come with its own uninstall program to click on. So when I run Windows'
program uninstaller, I first get an error popup:
"Error 1713 PaperPort 8.0 SE cannot install one of its required products."
After clicking that one away, another popup error appears
"Fatal error during installation."

Don't know why the final popup error relates to installation rather than
uninstallation.

Now what do I do? Have some experience editing the Windows registry, but I
have no idea where all the various places in the registry that the PaperPort
8.0 SE installation exists.

Apparently a common problem. Although I have installed and uninstalled
PaperPort 8 numerous times.

PaperPort 8.0 uses the Windows Installer (MsiExec.exe).

FYI, from my registry...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{AEF2D1F3-0696-11D5-8E6A-00C04F7FA234}

PaperPort 8.0 Uninstall string
MsiExec.exe /I{AEF2D1F3-0696-11D5-8E6A-00C04F7FA234}
