TV Audio Video Synchronization Problem

I installed a Viewsonic VX2255WMB monitor and software and encountered
problems with my ATI All in Wonder 9600 TV (AGP 8x bus 128 MB). Prior to
installation everything worked as advertised. I have since installed ATI
9.16MMC and 7.12CCC updates and still have TV video lagging 8-10 seconds
behind the TV sound. DVDs play fine. ATI/AMD have been unable to provide a
solution. I have come across comments regarding reference clock
synchronization for Windows XP that discusses a HOTFIX however; I have
learned that it is for Windows XP Professional and Microsoft DirectX 9.0b. My
system is Windows XP Home Edition, 2.4GHZ intel processor, 2 Gig Memory,
Intel Desktop Board D865GBF/D865PERC, BARCODE data is:
BQBF40206043-AA-C25843-406. Can anyone tell me if this fix will work for me
or if you have other recommendations or troubleshooting steps then I would
appreciate hearing them. Thanks, Roger

Hard to imagine why installing a monitor would have any effect on your TV
playback functions unless you installed some A/V software that was bundled
with it. TV input is often buffered a few seconds before playback starts. If
the audio or video streams are not being processed by the original ATI TV
software that could through them out of sync... one stream being buffered
the other not.. Possibly the integrated webcam capture software or some of
its settings conflicts with the ATI TV capture software.

I uninstalled the viewsonic drivers for the monitor and there was a slight
improvement. I never did install the webcam software nor hook up the monitor
speakers. Bottomline, TV audio and video are still out of sync. Any other
thoughts? Thanks for responding. Roger
