audio/video sync problems

Hello.

I am having an annoying audio/video sync problem in wmp10 and throughout
winxp, also realplayer 10 as well.

I use a jetway/kworld tv capture card. The live tv feed and captured files
have the audio slightly behind the video. (I have contacted them about this
already, got latest program versions and drivers. Also have latest updates
for sound card, video card, and feburary directx as well)

I also get this problem trying to playback DVDs. I have tried using
different codecs with windows video decoder checkup utility, but nothing has
worked. (using cyberlink decoder atm, also have intervideo decoder as well,
the only 2 that are mp10 compatible).

I have tried the microsoft hotfix KB887131, but it wouldnt install. I
manually copied quartz.dll over to system32 but it didnt help. I have read
about quartz.dll being a problem, i have 2600.2749.

Video, mpeg2 files, and DVDs work fine in cyberlink's own dvd player,
PowerDVD, with no syncing problems at all.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions to sort out the sync problem with
wmp10, as i much prefer it to other players.

hope someone can help...

[using: win xp home sp2, geforce fx 5600 81.98, phillips soundcard, directx

I'm with you. My problem is my ATI AIW9600 started having audio/sync
issues since a few days - I'm not sure if it was a new version of MMC
which did it, because apparently since 9.14 (may be different, I'm not
sure of the exact version), you can use the internal mechanisam to
transfer audio from tv card to audio-out. In the past it was always
necessary to use an external cable from tv audio out, through to line
in or microphone in.

I'm waiting to see if MS come up with some solution but I also cannot
install the hotfix.

Message:
Setup cannot continue because one or more pre-requisites required to
install KB887131 failed. For More details check the Log File
C:\WINDOWS\KB887131.log

Let me know if anyone figured it out and likewise i'll try to update
this if MS solve it !
