ATI Catalyst Control Centre not running

T

Tom

XP SP3 + .NET framework 3.5 SP1 + all updates.

I cannot get the ATI CCC working.

It does not load at startup although it is in 'sys config startup.'
If i click on Catalyst Control Center, MOM.exe and CCC.exe appear in task
manager then disappear after about 20 secs, but no CCC.
I have tried different drivers and they all install correctly (ATI install
log), but no CCC.
I have removed and re-installed all the .NET software, but no CCC.
If i try to start CCC with no .NET software it gives an error (i assume the
code means 'can't find .NET2') which means the ATI
is looking for the .NET.
AMD forums have been no help.

Anyone any ideas because i'm stumped.

Download and run; amddriverdownloader.exe

If there is software for your video card, remove the associated software
though the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel applet and then install the
software downloaded from AMD/ATI.

Driver auto-detect takes me to ver 13-1 which is the one currently
installed.
I have tried 4 drivers, 2 from Powercolor (the card manufacturer) and the
latest 2
from AMD.
I have removed/installed as per AMDs directions, i have used Driver sweeper
to
remove all traces of amd/ati , but still it will not run.
The .NET software has been re-installed.
What else is there?

It might be the current version but, uninstalling and then using their
utility to reinstall might make the difference.

No luck.
I manually reverted to the previous ver, 12-8 then used the
amddriverdownloader to upgrade to 13-1. No change.

What do you mean "manually reverted to the previous ver, 12-8" ?

The objective is to uninstall the AMD/ATI software so there is no video
associated software and then install the software from a standpoint that
it didn't exist.

This is going nowhere.
Thank you for your help David.
