startup error in older computer

My older computer will not boot. It gets to the Gateway logo, with all the
dots on the top of the screen, stops and re-starts over and over again.

possibilities, you'll need to try generic troubleshooting or show the
machine to a professional.

Can you boot into Safe Mode?

Hi alsarg,

Well you can also try to restore Boot.ini file ie
Boot with Bootable O/s CD – Select R for recovery – switch to CD drive – Type CD E: - Type CD I386 – type BOOTCFG /Scan if no boot

file detected – Type BOOTCFG /REBUILD – Type “Y” – type /

fastdetect – type Windows version lower than Windows 7
