Stand By

Since I downloaded the, "Protect your PC in 3 easy steps"
from the microsoft web site, mt "STAND BY" facility does
not work. All I can do is close the PC down or re start
it. Any body got any ideas.

It's not the 3 easy steps, you mean you downloaded and installed SP2 as one
of those steps. The problem you describe is usually caused by a conflict
with a device driver, usually the driver for the graphics card or soundcard.
Check your card manufacturers website for the latest XP drivers, especially
those that are specified as compatible with SP2.
