If you mean playing the still photo for shorter duration then you can set
the default duration for photos in Tools->Options->Advanced and then set the
Picture duration value using up-down arrow keys.
After this all new photos entered will have this duration.
To adjust the duration of photos already entered, go to Storyboard mode.
