SP2 doesn't work with RIS on Win2K server?

Mads Borlund

We've been installing WinXPSP1 on lots of IBM Thinkpads T40s/T41s from a
Win2K RIS server. I tried slipstreaming SP2 onto a copy of the SP1 images,
and now the computers hang in the text-based section of the RIS
installation, displaying "Setup is starting Windows" - nothing happens.

Thinking that maybe the slipstreaming had somehow failed, I took an original
XP disk and created a bootable SP2 version - then tested that by doing a
manual install on a Thinkpad T40 -everything worked fine. I then created a
new unattended installation on the RIS server, and after installing the
Intel PRO100 VE drivers on that it hangs at exactly the same point as my
other test?

I've tried googling for this and searched TechNet and Premium support, but
haven't been able to find anything about this.

Does anyone know hwats wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Well, has anyone made any headway on this issue? Because I am running in to
it as well.
