Software wont install

Guardian2090

My WinXP computer was working fine, no problems at all. The other day I tried
to install a third party software package (Store bought, no download) and it
wont install. It just hangs. I tried a differetn software package and got the
same result. I have to go to the taskmgr to stop the process if it even
starts at all.

When I check out the Event Viewer, I find that "Application HAngs" error and
Fault bucket 08865814.

These are prorgams designed for WinXP. Any suggestions?

Ask for help from the technical support for "a third party software
package". Your question is too vague for anything but a wild guess.

Google shows you are the only one who has posted that error message;
therefore, if you are going to get help, you will probably need to contact
the maker of the software as Leonard suggested.

Gee I failed at mind reading, my ex-wife can attest to that! How do you
expect to get any help if you don't tell us what this third party
software program is?

I use Firefox because I want to use software that complies
with Web standards. See <http://www.mozilla.org/>.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. It wont install ANY program that I've tried,
specifically Abode Photoshop 5.0 and ACT 2004.

Photoshop does not say specifically that it is XP compatible though I have
installed it on an XP machine before. ACT does specifically say that it is XP
compatible.
