Software Installs hangup in XP

Since I've upgraded to SP2, I've had problems not being able to install some
kinds of application software. My particular problem now is installing a
Canon printer, but I have other apps that don't want to install.
The installation process starts but hangs up during the install.

Has anyone seen a problem like this before?

Make sure that no other software is running in the background. See
"How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP"

It depends, Terry. On the offset, disable your AV scanners and try again.
If that doesn't help, repost with more information.
