Seasons Greetings and apologies for the lengthy post.
I'm experiencing problems installing Sony Ericsson's (SE) PC Suite (for
K800i) onto my desktop PC. The installation seems to get as far as ~80%
(looking at the download bars) and then just hangs. I've also tried
downloading and intsalling the program from the SE website but this also
failed to install.
I have XP Pro SP2 on my desktop PC and disabled both Norton 360 and
Spysweeper programs before attempting to install.
Searching the Net I see that quite a few folks have had problems with this
software but none of the problems seemed to match mine - hence this post.
Tech support at SE suggested uninstalling Windows Installer and installing
latest versions of:
Microsoft Windows Installer
Microsoft .NET framework and
Microsoft Visual C++ visual
My versions apppear to up to date i.e. the latest versions. I had a look at
the KB for "Windows Installer" (Article ID:555175) and ensured that it is
"registered" and that it is not "disabled"
Would it do any harm to uninstall and reinstall the above?
Thanks
Tony
