Smartbridge error message on startup

Hi all, first hope i have got right discussion group.
Second problem is that I teach computing i.e. how to use all MS Office
products + other things. Am not really a hardware person but over the years
have picked up some knowledge to help clients but this odd happening is
beyond me.

In this last 2 weeks I have had 4 clients with same problem as follows: All
run WXP home edition with SPk2 installed. 3 have dell systems with dell
printers - one has an unknown make comp with a Cannon printer. All comps
less than 2 yrs old.

All on start up get an error message on the screen starting : Smartbridge
Alert - I don't know all of the rest of the messages but one is:
Bthelpnotifier.exe (entrypoint not found) procedure entry point process image
filename could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPi.dll.

Other info is that 2 of them also had bubbles appearing in taskbar saying
'Files waiting to be written to CD' - neither of whom had done any copying
and indeed do not know how to do backups to CD.

Finally all 4 have just downloaded IE 7.

Can anyone make any sense of this please nad what to do to correct the error
message.
Thanks

After installing IE7, users may get a SmartBridge Alert error message at
startup. SmartBridge is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a
result, users may receive the following error message after installation
of IE7:

SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located
in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

To work around this error, navigate to the installation location for
SmartBridge (\Program Files\Verizon (or name of ISP)...\Smart...). Find
PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL. Reboot. The
program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory
and function normally.

Further questions about IE7 should be posted to its newsgroup:

1. Motive SmartBridge© is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a
result, users might receive the following error message after installation
of Internet Explorer 7:

"SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry
point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link
library PSAPI.DLL"

2. Hal Screen Reader and Supernova Reader Magnifier by Dolphin both may stop
responding when users click commands from Internet Explorer’s file menu.
These two programs are shipped with an older version of psapi.dll that
causes the program to stop responding in Internet Explorer 7.

To resolve this error:

* Go to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program
Files\Verizon...\Smart...) or Dolphin Hal Screen Reader or Supernova Reader
Magnifier.

[Alternately, search in Windows Explorer (WinKey+E) for "PSAPI.DLL" (without
the quotes); you may need to enable Advanced option and the 3 options
underneath it.]

* Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL

* NB: Do NOT rename the PSAPI.DLL file in C:\Windows\System32 directory!

* Restart the computer.
