Slow Shutdown

I am currently using Windows XP SP2. When I go to turn off computer, it
takes about 3 minutes for the shutdown / restart screen just to pop up.
Then, when it finally pops up, and I hit shutdown, or restart, it hangs on
the Windows is Shutting down screen for about another 3 minutes. All this is
only when my computer has been on for more than 30 minutes, before 30
minutes, it works fine. I have tried several things like setting the
ClearPageFileAtShutdown to 0 and to 1, also have tried a numerous other
things that don't seem to work for me. Please help.

"Clear page file at shutdown" always makes for alot more time when shut-
ing down, thats the bad part of that setting...However,SP2 seems to add time,
try system properties,advanced,start-up recovery, the last words should be:
fast detect If more are there,or if another line exist, select edit, then
delete
added.

I tried that, and that doesn't seem to work either. I'm thinking about
getting rid of the sp2. It seems it is more trouble than it is helping.
Unless there is anything else I could do.
