Windows XP SP2 - hangs when Shutdown is clicked

Hi All,
I've got a brand new HP Compaq dx7300T workstation, running XP SP2.
Whenever the staff member clicks 'Start' then 'Shutdown', the system hangs
for approx. 2 minutes then pops up the shutdown box.

It otherwise performs perfectly. Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Dave.

Hi, I actually tried that one before I posted here!

Any other ideas?

Cheers

Dave,

If you're using Norton AV, you need to turn off Auto-Protect floppy
drive scan on shutdown.

- Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus is installed as a part of Norton SystemWorks or
Norton Internet Security, then start that program.
- Click Options.
If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.
- In the Norton AntiVirus Options dialog box, in the left pane, double-
click Auto-Protect.
- Click Advanced.
- In the right pane, uncheck Scan floppy disk in A: for boot viruses
when shutting down.
- Click OK.
- Restart the computer.

Hope this helps...
