I have a windows 2k sp3 laptop. It is a P3 600 with 192mb ram. It takes
nearly 3 minutes until the system is useable.

It takes about 1 minute 30 or 40 to get to login and the rest of the time is
logging into the network and startup stuff? Help.

Take a look at the service tweaking here

http://www.blackviper.com/WIN2K/servicecfg.htm

Check the event viewer to see if any errors are reported.

Check your anti virus is up to date

Check you have'nt picked up any spyware

I did as you said and it helped me out. I found some errors in the event
viewer that when corrected helped boot time somwhat. It is an older machine
as well, so that was a factor as well I am sure.

Glad it helped, thanks for the feedback
