Signing off MSN messenger

Hi. MSN messenger is really annoying me. I never use the thing, but my
daughter does (who is signed as another user). Nonetheless, when I'm signed
on, her friends keep 'popping up' to talk to me. I try to exit, but it tells
me I can't while I have Outlook Express and/or Explorer running. However,
when I exit those, the messenger icon disappears. I've tried 'away' or
'appear offline' which works for a very short while, but then it appears to
sign itself in again.
Also, all her MSN contacts appear in my Outlook Express address book. I
tried to delete them but they just keep reappearing.
Anyone have a solution to this oh-so annoying problem?

On the main msn messenger window:

File > Sign Out

Also Tools > Options > General Tab, further options there....

Why not set up 2 users for the computer, that way you wont get the pop-ups
when you are using the computer.

Hi Kalda,

Like you, it's my kids who make the most use of Messenger, I don't use it
that much but what I do know is that if you choose Tools (in Messenger)then
Options then click the privacy tab you can block any contacts from seeing
whether you are online and from sending you messages. Click on the names you
want to block and send them to your blocked list.

I do have 2 users for the computer. That's what's so annoying - her pop-ups
come when I'm using it as me.
I've tried all options under the "options" tab and nothing is working...

Thanks. The only problem is that when I do this it won't let me highlight the
names, so I can't block them. Also, I've tried all the options under
'options' but to no avail.

Switch back to her logon, and log her off MSN Messenger, or just log her off
her login.
