Sharing printer to a XP machine

Jensen

Hello,

Does any have suggestions on how to share a printer to and
XP machine? I shared the printer in on the Win2000 machine
and added "Everyone" all rights. The XP machine sees it
(they are in the same workgroup) but when clicking on the
2000 workstation name, it says the XP machine does not
have permissions to access the 2000 machine.

BTW ... The Win2000 only shows itself under the windows
network eventhough the workgroup is the same as the XP
machine. I'm thinking of buying a darn print sever. These
machines are networked via a Linksys Cable modem/router,
DHCP. They can ping each other as well *.100 and *.101.

Thanks!

Hi Jensen...

I would agree with the print server approach (JetDirect) but since you're in
a workgroup, do you have an account on the W2K computer that matches the
user on the XP computer?
