I can ping 2000 server but cannot connect from XP Pro

Hello,

I have a network with a Win2000 server SP4. One of my other machines
is an XP Pro SP 2 and there are some othe 2000 professional towers
here as well. All the machines can connect to the servers shares just
fine except the XP Pro machine.

I can ping the server but I cannot connect to it through explorer. I
get: "The Network path was not found" even though I can ping it. None
of the other machines have this problem and I can get from the XP
machine to the other workstations shares just fine. I can also get
from the server to the XP machines shares fine just not the other way.

There is no domain, they are the same workgroup. I've edited the
hosts file with the correct IP's and hostnames.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can resolve this?

Just to add some more info, I do NOT have the Windows Firewall turned
on, it is off. I do have the XP machines username and password setup
as a user on the 2000 machine.
